He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Benjamin and Etta Leona Frye (Whitacre); his siblings, Donna Jean Frye, Faye Sherman, Luna White, Jack Frye, Shug Frye and Dewayne Frye; and his granddaughter Miya Lea Frye.
He is survived by: his wife Jean; his children, Katrice (Tim Kirlin), Jamie (Danny Dry), Robyn (Norval Tetrick) and James Ellis "Rusty" Frye II; his grandchildren, Tony, Landon, Benji, Brandon, Randall, Danny, Lisa and Kiya; and his sister Martha Lee Marshall (John). He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Fannon Cemetery or Clark Church.
