He was predeceased by: his parents, Burnice Cudney and Nellie Cudney (Yates); his former wife Erma; his son Craig L. Yager; his grandson John Yager; and his siblings, Marvin Cudney, Robert Cudney and Eva Yates.
He is survived by: his wife Vernice; and his children, Bruce Hill (Debbie), Faynell Hill, Charles Yager, Charlotte Beattie (Jim), Cindy Winslow, Christopher L. Yager, Sr., Michelle Short, Melina Hendrickson and Melissa Fesperman. He is also survived by many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; and a host other relatives and friends.
