He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd "Rufus" Thrasher and Leta Thrasher (Couch); and his brother Tom Thrasher. He is survived by: his wife Julia Thrasher (Campbell); his children, Trent Thrasher (Leah) and Leah Smith; his grandchildren, Jaya, Lydia, Layla, Scarlett, Samuel, Madelyn, Sylas and Brycen; his sister-in-law Sandra Thrasher; his nephew Scott Thrasher (Denise); and his nieces, Traci Thrasher, Terri Miller (John) and Tammi Bassett.
