Odell Mattox Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Odell Mattox (Aurora, Missouri), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 7, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mattox and Violeta Mattox; his siblings, J. C. Mattox (Fayrene) and Delphyne Dunning (Johnnie); and his brother-in-law Don Mann.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Ethridge; his children, Brian Mattox (Tammi) of Verona, Missouri and Marilyn Schellen (Tim) of Aurora, Missouri; his grandsons, Preston Mattox (Michelle Patton), Brandon Mattox (Brenna) of Nixa, Dillon Mattox (Haley) of Clever, Brett Schellen (Paige) of Aurora, Lucas Schellen (Sarah Davis) and Timmy Schellen of Springfield, Missouri; his great grandchildren, Lainey Schellen and Norah Mattox; and his sister Anna Ruth Mann of Raytown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home (303 S Jefferson Ave, Aurora, MO 65605). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Maple Park Cemetery (2 W Prospect St, Aurora, MO 65605).

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Auora Fundamental Methodist Church.
