He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cecil Mapes and Marguirite Claycamp Mapes; his wife Marilyn Mapes; his children, Chris Mapes (Lora) of Monument, N. M., David Mapes (Jolene) of Joplin, MO., Gary Compton of Chetopa, KS., Danny Compton (Dawn) of Leach, OK., Joey Ceravlo of Siloam Springs, Vida Mann of Canton, KS., Darlene Alvis of McPherson, KS., Kim Carlson of McPherson, KS., Gwenlyn Mapes (Bob) of McPherson, KS. and Susie Compton of Decatur, AR.; and his siblings, Bill Mapes (Shelly) of Wichita, KS., Barbara Liles (Donald) of Aurora, Gloria Belcher (Jerry) of Wiscounsin and Karen Warburton of Lafayette, LA.. He was also cherished by 40 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
