She is survived by: her children, James "Jim" Bert Akers, Jr. (Denise Dawn) of Baton Rouge, Jeffery Wayne Akers of Columbia and Julie Pauline Akers Taylor (Joshua Taylor) of Perth; her grandchildren, Heather Aileen Akers Shugart (Andrew Michael Shugart) of Gonzales, Christopher "Chris" Nelson Akers of Princeton, Margaret "Mara" Akers of Columbia and Jedidiah; and her great grandchildren, Reagan Dawn Shugart and Zander James Shugart.
