As we bid adieu to Betty Jean's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Betty Jean has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ed Light and Mabel Light (Knott). She is survived by: her husband Don King; her children, Steve King (Leanne) of Aurora, Missouri and Laurie King of St. Petersburg, Florida; and her brother Max Light (Marta) of Albuquerque. She is also survived by two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Aurora United Methodist Church (1211 S Carnation Dr, Aurora, MO 65605). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Maple Park Cemetery (2 W Prospect St, Aurora, MO 65605).
In lieu of flowers memorial donation can be made payable to the Aurora United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
