He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Smith and Jewell Logan Smith. He is survived by: his wife Judith Mason; his daughters, Bethany Smith Harris (Jeff) of Marshall and Jennifer Smith Funston (Doug) of Liberty; his grandchildren, Drew Harris (Betsy) of Marshalltown, Logan Harris (Nicole) of Lee's Summit, Olivia Funston of Kansas City and Amelia Funston of Shawnee, Kansas; his great grandchildren, Henry Judah Harris of Marshalltown and Thomas Michael Harris of Lee's Summit; his siblings, Donald Smith of Montgomery City, Missouri and Eunice Littleton of Smithville, Missouri; his nephews, Mark Smith (Tina), Kevin Smith (Ramona) and Jeff Littleton (Elsa); his great-nephews, Logan Littleton, Conor Littleton and Terrell Littleton; his great-niece Madeleine Hahn (Eric); and also Ian Hahn.

Memorials are suggested to the Friends of Arrow Rock, or the Arrow Rock Federated Church in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
