It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melba Catherine Ifland (Arnold, Missouri), who passed away on June 5, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Harold J. Ifland; her daughter Nancy C. Schulze; her parents, Joel Hobbs and Hazel Hobbs; and her siblings, Snoe Shockley, Jay, Forrest and Burt Hobbs.

She is survived by: her sons, William E. Ifland (Susan) and James H. Ifland (Gloria); and her sisters, Mabel McGowen and Wanda Nash. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Honoring Melba's life, contributions may be made to Stephen Siller Tunnel to the Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island New York 10306 or contributions to a charity of your choice.

“Years ago, Melba lived next door to my family on Nettie Dr. I remember my mouth watering when I would visit the Ifland’s house, Melba made the best pies ever!! I still think of Melba when I see a pie with meringue topping, she did it up nice! Melba also did a great job sewing. A true homemaker, wife and mother. I haven’t been in contact with the family in years, until my teen age years I spent many nights with her daughter Nancy. R.I.P. Melba Jayne (Worth) Eby”
