He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Tipton and Lillian Tipton; his son Gregory Tipton; his brothers, Frank, Donald and Gordon Tipton; his grandson Terry Tipton; and his great grandchild Ryker Tipton.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Tipton of Arnold, MO; and his children, Rachel Wolters (Gary) of Fountain City, IA, Mark Tipton (Jami) of Prattville, AL, Bethany Leach (James) of Arnold, MO and Sharon Scofield (Alan).
