She is survived by: her husband Robert Eugene Steele; her children, Brett (Lindsay Ballinger) and Tamara (Chris Jackson); her grandchildren, Shelby Ballinger, Lucas, Lauren Childs, Bryce, Derek Ballinger and Natalie Jackson; and her brother Fletcher (Betty Reichart).

The family asks in lieu of gifts to make a donation to Disabled American Veterans.
