He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Taylor, Sr. and Amelia Allgor; his stepfather George "Tuck" Smith; his great grandchild Caysin Rainforth; his siblings, Lillian Porter, Linda Chamness and Roy Lee Smith; his nephews, Zachary Taylor, David Chamness and Greg Taylor; and his son-in-law Ray Cummings.
He is survived by: his wife Lou Ann Taylor; his children, Ruby Cummings (Virgil), Cleatis Taylor, Nathan Taylor (Marsha), Shawna Engeman (Dennis), Terra Reynolds (Brian), Delena Grant (Michael), Larry Taylor (Evie), Kim Jones (Rick) and Anna Taylor (Chris); his siblings, Amelia Masters, Nancy Franklin, Lawrence Taylor (Dolores), Mary Flanagan, Marie Neece and Earl Wayne Smith; his aunt Ruth Smith; and his close friends, Terry, Donna and Willie. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
