He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Buttram (Lenora Buttram) and Evelyn Buttram Long; his brothers, Jack Buttram, John Buttram, Ray Buttram and Robert "Bob" Buttram; and his son Darren Buttram.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Varney; his siblings, James "Jimmy" Buttram and Francis Buttram Cook (Larry); his children, Susie Buttram Jones and Charles "Chas" Buttram; his stepchildren, Phillip Flanagan (Patti) and Jennifer Flanagan Morris (Robert); and his grandchildren, Holli Carnes Mulenga, Brooke Scribner, River Buttram, Bellamy Buttram, Baylor Buttram, Emily Buttram, Ken Bryan, Steven Flanagan, Branston Flanagan, Brooklyn Morris and Seth Morris. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
