He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Asa and Celia Ann Ramirez Gookin; and his son Billy Gookin. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Gookin; his children, Carl Robert "Bobby" Gookin of California and Tammy Gookin of Washington; his stepsons, Mike Sixkiller of Amsterdam, Missouri and Dennis Sixkiller of Amsterdam, Missouri; and his stepgrandchildren, Vivian Sixkiller and Jesse James Sixkiller.
