He was predeceased by: his parents, James Earnest and Lona Alta McIntire Shelton; his son Jay "Jay Jay" Shelton; and his siblings, Dale Shelton, Everett Shelton and Thelma Mabrey.
He is survived by: his wife Bevera "Bev" Shelton of Amoret, Missouri; his sons, Ron Shelton (Diane) of Amoret and William Shelton (Amy) of Blue Springs, Missouri; his sisters, Doris Lancaster of Drexel, Mary Jane Michaels of Harrisonville and Esther Saner (Tom) of Shawnee, Kansas; his grandchildren, Brittanny Lunde, Devon Lunde, Catilynn Kelly (Patrick), Bailey Barnes and Caleb Shelton; and his great grandchildren, Bryleigh Lunde, Kynsli Kelly and Oaklee Kelly.
