He was predeceased by: his parents, Adlia Schank and Thelma Schank (Taylor); his daughter Norma Holder; and his siblings, Dwight, Orland, Cordell, Gilbert, Martha Gaukel and Carrie Schank.
He is survived by: his wife Eva Raines; his children, Phyllis Middleton of Guilford, Ralph Schank (Lisa) of Savannah, Dennis Schank (Anna) of Lee's Summit, Stacey Green (James) of Warner, OK and Rodney Schank (Jeanette) of Weston; and his sister Linda Patterson of Fillmore. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
