He is survived by: his wife Rose; his siblings, Luke Simmons (Becky), Sam Simmons (Penny), Calvin Simmons (Mae), Jenesce Shepard (David), Jenelle York (Gary) and Jenette Kirkpatrick (Greg); and his children, Jimmy Simmons, Patty Atkins (Mark), Cindy Todd (Rickey), Jerry Junior and John Simmons (Katie). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
