He was predeceased by: his parents, Gayford Newman and Lucille Routh-Newman; his wife Judith; his daughter Alice (Newman); his stepmother Lela Clark; his son Johnny Newman; and his siblings, Norma Essary, Richard and Jack Newman.
He is survived by: his children, Ernest Newman (Brendia), Edward Newman and Ramona Taylor (Robert). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
