She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Virgil Blankenship and Leona Blankenship (Storms) of Alton; her son Jeffrey James; her grandparents, John, Viola Blankenship, Perry Jake and Haiti Storms; her brothers, Harold James and James Ronnie; and her great grandchild Katlyn.
She is survived by: her husband Harry Hurst of Sikeston, MO; her children, Marty Bates of West Plains, MO, Scotte Bates of Sikeston, MO and Shajuana Bates (Dean) of Sikeston, MO; her siblings, Darlene Johnson (Jerry) of Alton, MO, Marcia White (Dan) of Gainesville, VA and Leroy Blankenship (Brenda) of Henderson, TX; her grandchildren, Heather Rodriguez (Gilbert), Micah Hennings (Jonathan), Jesse Bates (Hollie), Jozy Bates, Jessica Bates, Cierra Weaver (Josh), Haleigh Rust (Logan), Devin Bates, Jaxon Bates and Karma Bates; and her great grandchildren, Dalton, Kaylee, Brennan, Tatum, Dawson, Elsie and Blair. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
