He is survived by: his parents, Douglas Shafer and Sharon Shafer; his wife Faith; his children, EllaMay, Nathaniel, Jacob and Zachary; his sisters, Grace Mardis (Justin) and Sara Kemper (Jonathan); and his father-in-law David Lockerby. He is also survived by Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and extended family.
