He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Clinton Rowan and Wanda Inez Rowan; his wife Joyce Ellen Stephens; his son Stephen Howard Rowan; and his sister Nancy Davis.
He is survived by: his daughter Anita Ellen Rowan (Brent); his sister Ann Lemieux (Al); his grandchildren, Ashley Rowan (Greg), Justin Rowan (Jordan), James Watson (Brooke) and Scott Watson; his stepdaughter Laura Johnson (Cotton); and his close friend Alice Detherage. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
