He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle E. Thompson and Ellen L. Thompson (Wheeldon); and his granddaughter Jayden. He is survived by: his brother Monty (Becky) of Albany; his children, Dustin, Timothy, Amanda, Ashley of Des Moines, IA and Savannah of Kansas City, MO; his nieces, Megan Law (Brad) and Morgan Thompson; his nephew Dalton Thompson (Shelby) of Troy, KS; his grandchildren, Tyler, Hayden, Elijah, Maddox, Skyler, Juanuis, Gage, Hailey, Peyton, Sariyah and Aaliyah; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Gentry, Porter, Sawyer, Bracken, Kerrigan and Laikyn. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
