He was predeceased by: his parents, John James McConkey and Anna Mae McConkey; and his sister-in-law Mary McConkey. He is survived by: his sons, Casey McConkey (Brooke) and Calan McConkey (Sarah); his brother Richard McConkey; his niece Katie Dias (Jason); his nephew John McConkey (Tessa); and his grandchildren, Maxwell, Coraline, Whittier and Teller.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Albany Booster Club (in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel) in honor of James' life-long commitment to the Albany School District.
