He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Scherer. He is survived by: his mother Jackie Scherer (Metheny) of Advance; his fiancée Desiree McCrary of Advance; his children, James Scherer of Advance and Bethany Scherer of Bell City; and his siblings, Joseph Scherer of Marble Hill, John Scherer of Advance, Theresa Scherer of Marble Hill, Sherri Neal of Connecticut, OH and Jennifer Rohan of Glen Allen.
