He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Wesley and Nellie Morrison Hunter; and his daughter Sherrie Morris. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Hunter of Adrian, Missouri; and his children, Victor Hunter of Archie, Andrew Hunter (Cheryl) of Butler, Ray Grubb of Simpsonville, Wayne Grubb of Leeton, Missouri, Julie Eddings (Foy) of Alco, Beckie Obermiller of Garfield and Cheryl Probst (David) of Butler, Missouri. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
