He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Emery and Beulah Levon Scott; his brothers, Jim and Clyde "Dub"; his siblings-in-law, Bob Abplanalp and Charlotte Gutshall; and his grandson Joshua Gutshall.
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Gutshall of Adrian, Missouri; his children, Kevin Gutshall (Cathy) of Falls City, Ed Gutshall (Cheryl) of Adrian, Missouri, Linda Fritts (Ron) of Adrian, Missouri and Robin Reed (Bill) of Adrian, Missouri; his siblings, Paul Gutshall (Darlene) of Lee's Summit, Charlie Gutshall of Liberty, Missouri, Levon Musgrave (John) of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Dee Ann Abplanalp of Lee's Summit, Missouri; his sisters-in-law, Ginger Gutshall of North Port and Bonnie Gutshall of Adrian, Missouri; and his grandchildren, Tonya Decker (Sterlon), Casey Franke (Andy), Suzie Carpenter, Jacob Gutshall (Lisa), Kayrin Vincent (Troy), Alex Bragg, Zech Bragg, Tina Gaylord (Eric), Randy Reed (Tina), Garrett Gutshall (Dallas), Makalyn Gutshall and Logan Mabary. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
