She was predeceased by: her parents, Franz Szymanski and Anna Szymanski; her husband Stanley Vangsness; and her siblings, Karl, Franz, Werner, Mia, Hilda, Alfrieda and Heinz.

She is survived by: her son Uwe Vangsness (Laurie) of Cedar Rapids, IA; her granddaughter Angela Koehne (Tony) of Rochester; her great grandchildren, Axton and Aiden Koehne; and her siblings, Hanalora Spencer (Rudy) and Walter Szymanski.
