He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Walstad and Mabel Walstad (Stromme); his wife Verna M. Borgschatz; his son-in-law David Jarvinen; and his sister-in-law Clarice Walstad.
He is survived by: his daughters, JoEllen Frederixon (Kerry) of Zumbrota, Karen Nord (Mike) of Zumbrota and Darla Jarvinen (Mark Husbyn) of Wanamingo; his grandchildren, Kasey Manuel, Adam Frederixon, Joel Varner, Jamie Varner, Kirby Henson, Skylee Jarvinen and Whitney Ellefson; his great grandchildren, Tracyn Eytcheson, Harper Frederixon, George Manuel, Treyson Varner, Finnick Varner and Ariel Ordalen; his brother Marvin Walstad of Zumbrota; and his close friend Mary Ehlenfeldt of Pine Island. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
