He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Halling and Margaret Halling (Callaghan); and his sister Betty Ann Liffrig (Danny Liffrig). He is survived by: his wife Jean Halling of Zumbrota; and his children, Kim Buysse (Wayne) of Old Frontenac, Lynn Jostock (Edwin) of Hammond, Mark Halling (Gloria) of Burnsville and Patrick Halling (Brenda) of Cannon Falls. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
