He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Mehrkens and Lilly Mehrkens (Kunde); his spouse Merle Jeanette Westgard; and his siblings, Luverne, Earl Mehrkens, Rosie Olson and Mabel Nelson.
He is survived by: his sons, Brent Mehrkens (Suzanne) of Fort Myers and Mark Mehrkens (Liz) of Zumbrota; his grandchildren, Jessica Mehrkens, Brandon Mehrkens (Ashley), Jake Mehrkens and Lilly Mehrkens; and his great grandchild Taylor Mehrkens. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
If so desired, memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choosing.
