It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darrell Dean Oelkers of Zumbro Falls, Minnesota, who passed away on March 31, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though Darrell Dean may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Oelkers and Margaret Oelkers (Sommers); his wife Virginia "Ginny" Anding; his son Daniel; his granddaughter Demitria; and his daughter-in-law Sherry Jackson.
He is survived by: his children, Dana Oelkers (Erin), Dirk Oelkers (Janelle) of Zumbro Falls and Dodie Jostock (Jim) of Millville; his daughter-in-law Darla Oelkers of Lake City; and his brother Larry Oelkers (Doris Jensen) of Rochester. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren.
A prayer was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Zumbro Falls VFW.
