He was predeceased by: his parents, John Laine and Mary Ellen Laine (Pajuola); his wife Shirley Heittola; his stepfather Eino Sander; and his sister Sonja Keiski.
He is survived by: his children, Sam Laine (Teri) of Hamilton, Keith Laine (Carole) of Cromwell and Cindy Schumacher (Dean) of East Bethel; and his sister Shirley Johnson. He is also survived by six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
