He was predeceased by: his parents, Claus Julius and Anna Julius (Schoneman); his siblings, Marie Timmons (Lloyd), Marlee Hoffman (Jack), George Julius, Francis Julius and Henry Julius; his siblings-in-law, George Lutterman, Lloyd Timmons, Lawrence Grote (Bud), Marcella Julius and Esther Julius; and his grandson Eric Julius.

He is survived by: his wife Faye Rutzen; his children, Pam Tiedemann (Melvin) of Ashton, IA, Curtis Julius (Ladonna) of Sioux Falls, SD, Craig Julius (Joyce) of Bigelow, MN, Kevin Julius of Rushmore, MN, Shelley Becker (Mark) of St. Helena, NE and Lanette Price (Dace) of Rapid City, SD; his sisters, Genevieve Lutterman and Shirlene Grote; and his sister-in-law Audrey Julius of Sibley, IA.. He is also survived by eight grandsons, one granddaughter, seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandson; many nieces and nephews.
