He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Pamela; his pet Anni; his son Wade Russell (Jacoba); his grandchildren, Nietzsche, Lotus and Dalton Deuel; his stepdaughter Sara Pruss (Josh); his stepgrandchildren, Josie, Ike and Abbey Johnson (Brandon); his father Lyman Deuel (Paula); his aunt Shirlee Benson; his siblings, Deborah Neugebauer (Henry), Cindy McBreen (Jim) and Derek Deuel (Valerie); his mother June Alice Deuel; his grandparents, William, Lora Konold, Clarence and Olive Deuel; his uncles, Max and Glen Benson; his aunt Lovanell Feinerman; and also Wells.

The family asks that donations be made to the Royal C Johnson Veterans Memorial Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD and directed to Hospice care.
