She was predeceased by: her parents, William Nihart and Hazel Nihart (Minor); her husband John Strom; her son Kenneth Strom; her grandson Donald Strom; and her siblings, True Nihart, Earl Nihart, Stacy Nihart, Irene Hind, Louise Mortland, Hazel Prinsen and Marilyn Wittrock.
She is survived by: her sons, Michael Strom of Mesa and Donald Strom of Brookings; and her brother Marlin Nihart (Ruth) of Huron. She is also survived by six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
