He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schelhaas and Lena Schelhaas (Van Roekel); his parents-in-law, William and Grace Wassenaar; his daughter-in-law LeAnn; his siblings, Carolyn (Henry DeGroot), Laura (Gerrit Posthuma), Nelvin (Geneva Schelhaas) and Janice Posthuma; and his siblings-in-law, Gerrit Wassenaar and Bev Wassenaar.
He is survived by: his children, Brian (Barb), Alec (Ashley Caldwell), Lowell (Hope), Nicole, Jenna Lynette Ossefoort (Rick), Chessa Frahm (Orrie) and Adam Ossefoort (Racheal); his family, Gladys, Brian, Barb, Alec, Lowell, Hope, Nicole, Jenna, Lynette, Rick, Chessa, Orrie, Adam and Racheal; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Ackermann (Jerry), Bonnie Shelton (Dave), Nelva Behr (Ron) and Gary Posthuma. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many more family and friends.
