He was predeceased by: his parents, John Painter (Jack) and Judith Painter; his parents-in-law, Margaret Grindstaff and Fonnie Grindstaff; and his siblings-in-law, Howard Grindstaff, Mark Oman and Elizabeth Ballard (McGowan).
He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his children, Rachel Meech (Steve), Gene Painter (Kelly), Britt Painter (Jean), Alta Schaffer (Joel), Crystal Ginsbach (Jason) and Jodi Jones; and his siblings, Scott Painter (Marilyn), Paul Grindstaff (Corliss), Roger Grindstaff (Juanita), Gerry McGowan (Joyce), Kathy Oman, Susan Paul and Jackie Hepler. He is also survived by 25 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the New Life Church (6758 Bailey Rd, Woodbury, MN 55129). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 1:45 PM at the Fort Snelling Cemetery (7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450).
