He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Sheffler and Betty Sheffler; and his brother Andrew. He is survived by: his wife Marie; his son Adam (Bobbie); his siblings, Bruce (Edna), Charles (Jill), Timothy and Sarah Buehrer; and his brother-in-law Joe Foss (Dawn).

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred for later distribution to the VA Health Care System.
