He was predeceased by: his parents, John Merchlewicz and Loretta Merchlewicz (Vouk); his former wife Mary C. Logeais; his grandson Thomas Merchlewicz; and his brother-in-law Jack O'Connell.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Merchlewicz of Woodbury; his children, Mark Merchlewicz (Charlotte) of St. Cloud, Peter Merchlewicz (Suzanne) of Kingsland, TX, Brandon Schwartz (Ashlee) of Lake Elmo and Jennifer Schwartz of Denver, CO; his siblings, Joe Merchlewicz (Pat) of Andover and Patty O'Connell of Renton, WA; and his grandchildren, Nicole, Rachel, Jaclyn Merchlewicz, Lillian, Landree Schwartz, Justin and Cody English.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Catholic Charities Food Shelf, Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund or Tri-County Humane Society.
