He was predeceased by: his wife Ora; his parents, John and Lillian; and his siblings, John, Bob, Arletta Cunningham, Yvonne Wilhelm and Jan Findley.
He is survived by: his children, Gerald II (Cheryl), Julie Tinkham, Jessica Gillitzer (Ron) and Karl (Therese); his grandchildren, Holly Tinkham, Elizabeth Whitten (Matt), Kristy Norton (Jeff), Casey Gillitzer (Kayla), Tess Scherbel, Jeffrey Gillitzer, Jocelyn Scherbel and Joseph Scherbel; his great grandchildren, Rose, Oliver and Vaeda Whitten; his grandchildren, Isla, Arlo Norton and Lincoln Gillitzer; and his brother Jim. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
