She was predeceased by: her parents, Freddie Kappers and Alma Kappers (Broadwater). She is survived by: her husband Larry Read; her daughters, Sarah Stay (Matt) and Jennie Read; her grandchildren, Lucy and Sam Stay; and her sisters, Jan Evenson and Margie Wampach (Bernie). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to King of Kings Lutheran Church - Music Ministry or Garden Ministry.
