He was predeceased by: his parents, Ned Fleming and Laverne Fleming (Bruckner); and his sister Sue Weiss. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Green (Ginger); his children, Meredith Shanahan (Wade) and Matthew Fleming (Wendy); his grandchildren, Bailee, Katelyn and Grant; and his sister Linda Holte. He is also survived by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
