He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Laxen and Clara Laxen (Sagstetter); his siblings, Sally, Art, Edward, Ella and Mixie; and his son-in-law Terry Scherping.
He is survived by: his children, Michael (Linda), Donald (Cindy), Carol Bisping (Gerry), Gerald (Sharon), Linda Handt (Gene), Kevin, Luanne Arlt (James), Jeannette Eastling (Edward), Gregory, Joanne Scherping and Jeffery; his wife Rita; and his sister Marilyn Kegler (Leon). He is also survived by 11 children; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
