Joan Elizabeth Genty Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Elizabeth Genty of Winsted, Minnesota, who passed away on May 28, 2022 at the age of 92. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joan Elizabeth Genty to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Kirkwood and Julia Kirkwood (Tollefson); her husband Richard Genty; her son Thomas Genty; her son-in-law Mike McGinn; and her sister Doris Thoreson (Lee).

She is survived by: her children, Jan Eggert (Fran), Richard Genty, Jr. (Roberta), John Genty (Sharon), Cynthia Ernhart (Steve), Teresa Ohm (Alan), Kathleen McGinn and Maureen Sevilla (Greg); her son-in-law Scott Schlaffman; and her brother Bruce Kirkwood (Lorraine). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Winsted VFW Auxiliary, Winsted American Legion Auxiliary or American Cancer Society.
