He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Hertel and Genevieve Hertel (Miller); his brothers, Paul Hertel and Jack Hertel; and his son-in-law Dexter Harrison.
He is survived by: his spouse Kathy Hertel; his children, Gloria Hertel (Tom Stifter), Matt Hertel, Mary Harrison (John Hertzog), Jake Hertel (Angie), Maggie Montgomery (John) and Grace Brennan (Ross); his grandchildren, Faye Field (Adam), Joe Telecky, Genevieve Dvorak, Cedar Hertel, Dena Hausladen (Tyler), Deirdre Caouette (Spencer), Darla Harrison, Dexter Harrison, Donovan Harrison, Lucy Hertel, Leo Hertel, Henry Hertel, Kathleen Montgomery, Elizabeth Montgomery, Clark Montgomery and Baby Boy Brennan; and his great grandchildren, Kylian Field, Baby Boy Caouette and Baby Girl Hausladen. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
