He was predeceased by: his mother Josephine "Jo" Day Schwartz; and his brothers, Gerald "Jerry" Day and Charles "Charlie" Schwartz. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Schwartz; his stepdaughters, Deanna DeMay (Brad) and Shannon Welsh; his siblings, Dorothy "Dottie" Marie Day Kuczaboski, Kenneth "Ken" Martin Schwartz (Betty), Deborah "Debbie" Ann Plaster (Tim), Ronald "Ron" Joseph Schwartz, Steven "Steve" Gregory Schwartz (Blanche) and Gordon "Gordy" Allen Schwartz (Serena); his grandson Mark Runquist; his niece Lisa Plaster; and his nephews, Nick Plaster and Tim Plaster. He is also survived by grand nieces, and grand nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the International Wolf Center in Ely, Minnesota or the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, Minnesota.
