He was predeceased by: his parents, George Schmidt and Irene Schmidt (Belter); and his sisters, Evonne Schmidt and Karen Young. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his sons, Todd Schmidt (Cindy), Troy Schmidt and Mitch Schmidt (John Schlobohm); his grandchildren, Ashely Christie (Eric), Broc Schmidt (Jenna) and Paige O'Brien (Thomas); his great grandchildren, Marlie, Maddix Christie and Declan O'Brien; and his siblings, Dean Schmidt (Marly) and Loretta Mueller. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
