He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hamernik and Anna Hamernik (Drugan); and his siblings, Joseph, Theresa, Vivian and William.
He is survived by: his wife Joan M. Fischer; his children, Kathryn Hamernik (Tim Walters), Michael Hamernik (Nancy) and Patricia Hamernik; his grandchildren, Michael Padgett (Nicole) and Connie Gollnick (Kyle); his great grandchildren, Evan, Gabby and Zoie Padgett; and his grandchildren, Mavryk and Charlotte Gollnick.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorials be directed to Winona Health Hospice Services, or to a charity of choice.
