He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Sr. Giers and Mariagnes Giers; and his father-in-law Maurice Greskowiak. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Giers (Greskowiak); his children, Jason Giers (Morgan), Jessica Haut (Tyler) and Marissa Peters (Mitch); his grandchildren, Lincoln Giers and Hazel Haut; his siblings, Paul Jr. Giers (Istelma), Patricia Ahrens (Mark), David Giers, Shelly Peterson (Bill), Terri Anderson (Tom), Andy Giers (Tillie) and Marie Garner (Derek); and his mother-in-law Donna Greskowiak.
In lieu of flowers, Phil asks that donations be made to Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota in his name.
