Lorraine Anita Spalding Obituary
At the age of 102, Lorraine went to meet her Lord on June 20, 2024, at Lake Winona Manor with family at her side.
Born to Walter and Madeline Pflughoeft August 27, 1921, Lorraine grew up in the town of Ridgeway where she met her husband, George. They were married on January 22, 1941, and Lorraine became a farmer's wife. Out of this marriage came three sons, Kenneth (Sharon), Gerald, and Randy (Pauline).
Outside of being a homemaker, she was always ready to challenge someone in a game of scrabble! Her grandchildren called her "Grandma Salamander" because she fed her pet salamanders in the basement.
Both George and Lorraine enjoyed watching Ridgeway's softball team play, which included them becoming honorary fans! Some of both of their pastimes were playing cards, traveling, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; son, Gerald; granddaughter, Shelly; and brothers, Lawrence and Ervin Pflughoeft.
She is survived by one brother, Raymond Pflughoeft, sons Kenneth (Sharon) and Randy (Pauline), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church, Ridgeway, MN, with Rev. James Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. before the service. She will be interred at Bush Cemetery, Ridgeway, MN.
